Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo was designated in 2010. The name, “Cerasuolo,” derives from the delicate cherry-colored pigmentation that is obtained from the Montepulciano grape in this unique wine (cherry in Latin is cerasus). Unlike many darker rosé wines in the U.S., this wine is wonderfully versatile due to its balanced structure & milder sweetness.
