Our company is the birthplace of the Amarone della Valpolicella, a symbol of quality in our region. In fact, we invented the name “Amarone,” meaning “greatly bitter,” in 1936 & were the first company trading this wine with this name. This wine is the best-known & most representative product of our company, thanks to its absolute expression of balance, with complex & utterly satisfying elegance & structure.
Color: ruby red, dense & compact
Nose: big intensity & persistence; notes of cherries, prunes, dried flowers & spice
Flavor/Finish: flavors of dried red fruits, dried flowers & sweet spice, with full body & smooth, velvety tannins
Varietal: 60% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 10% other DOCG varietals
Food Pairing: grilled & braised meats, game meats, aged cheeses
Process: hand picked, dried for 60- 120 days; destemmed & gently crushed, controlled malolactic fermentation, 30 days maceration; aged in oak, steel, then bottle; natural stabilization
