The Le Sabbie wines are the forerunner of Firriato’s many decades of wine production on Etna. Wines from the Cavanera Etnea Estate form part of the elite by birth and are dedicated to exclusivity. They are labels considered for and dedicated to the most demanding wine-lovers. Only the extraordinary terroir of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Europe’s largest active volcano, could yield a wine with such great personality.

Color: bright ruby red, with lively shades of purple

Nose: typical minerality, ripe & elegant notes of black currants & cherries, prune jam, liquorice, pepper & wilted violet

Flavor/Finish: well-balanced & harmonious, with liveliness; rich, warm & refined, with suave tannins of extraordinary lineage; lingering, juicy finish

Varietal: Nerello Mascalese & Nerello

Food Pairing: steak tartare, roast chicken, pasta with tomato-based sauce

Process: hand-picked; vinification in steel tanks; bottle aged 6 months

Serving Temperature: 61 - 64 °F
