Chianti dates back to at least the 13th century, with the earliest incarnations of Chianti as a white wine. Much has changed since then, & today this wine is one of Italy’s most well-known & recognizable wines, not to mention, one of the most popular in America.
Color: intense ruby red, with slight shades of burgundy
Nose:full, sweet & fruity, with hints of vanilla & spice
Flavor/Finish: medium tannic structure, sweet at first, with full-central taste; good acidity & persistent fruity finish
Varietal: 95% Sangiovese, plus Merlot, Canaiolo, Cabernet, Colorino
Food Pairing: simple white & red meat dishes, mushrooms & dry cheeses
Process: aged in 2nd year oak barriques & quintal barrels for 12 months, with a minimum 6 months bottle aging
Serving Temperature: 64 - 66 °F
Alcohol: 13.5%

Though Chianti is required to include a minimum of 85% Sangiovese, we opted for 95% to give an authentic representation of the Sangiovese grape of our region, with a small amount of other varietals to round out the flavors
