The name Recioto derives from the Venetian dialect word, “recia,” or ear, which in the vineyard indicates the highest cluster part exposed to the sun, the most valuable, most sugary part. As for Amarone, recioto has also gone from DOC to DOCG, as a recognition of merit, from the 2010 a special sandy soil, able to enhance elegance and perfumes of the wine vintage.
