The Baglio Sorìa Estate is home to one of Firriato’s oenological treasures—a quintessentially Sicilian red that has seduced wine lovers the world over with its pleasing complexity and its perfect balance between freshness and alcohol content. Rich in fruitiness and elegance it is a pioneering Sicilian blend of international and native grape varieties.

Color: deep, intense ruby red color, with lively shades of purple

Nose: well-defined nuances of marasca cherries, wild berries, rhubarb, cloves, herbs blended with liquorice & tobacco

Flavor/Finish: intensely Mediterranean character, blending a powerful & hearty texture, extraordinary vivacity, & silky, fine tannins with notes of berries & liquorice

Varietal: Nero d’Avola, Syrah

Food Pairing: meat, game, bolognese, lasagna, rich pastas

Process: hand-picked; vinification in steel tanks at controlled temps; aged 8 months in American durmast barriques & 6 months in bottle; malolactic fermentation
